The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice among the top thousand universities in the world

The University of South Bohemia has taken for the first time a place in the international ranking of the top universities THE World University Rankings (THE). Among other Czech universities, USB reached 5th place and globally a shared place 801. – 1000.

All universities are within the World University Rankings ranking THE, which has been published by the British magazine Times Higher Education since 2010, evaluated in following fields: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, quoting rate and international outlook. The University of South Bohemia did the best in the two last mentioned.

„The placement in the TOP 1000 world universities gives us important feedback and it is very rewarding. At the same time, it increases the international prestige of the University of South Bohemia “says about the success the rector of USB.

Generally, the high ranking of the University of South Bohemia is also proved by its placement in other world rankings. Such as Academic Ranking of World Universities 2019 USB has obtained the shared 901. – 1000. place. Within this ranking has USB taken a place in five fields:

• Field: Life Sciences; Subject: Biological Sciences: 401.-500. place

• Field: Life Sciences; Subject: Agricultural Sciences: 201.-300. place

• Field: Life Sciences; Subject: Veterinary Sciences: 151.-200. place

• Field: Natural Sciences; Subject: Ecology: 101.-150. place

• Field: Engineering; Subject: Environmental Science & Engineering: 401.-500. place

In another ranking– CWUR 2019-2020 (The Center for World University Rankings) –is the University of South Bohemia on 1024. place and 5. place within the Czech Republic.

To mention is also the placement in the regional ranking QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia 2019.

THE World University Rankings belongs together with QS World University Rankings and ARWU to the most prestigeous rankings in the world. This year THE World University Rankings 2020 experts evaluated 1800 universities, 1396 from 92 countries have reached a place.
