Study at USB
The exhibition of photos was held in the foyer of the rectorate at USB and it was accompanied by the tasting of real Malay tea and the performance of traditional Malay dance. The event was organised by the delegation and students from MMU (Multimedia university) within their motivational stay at USB that finished on 7.11.2019.
On Monday 4.11.2019 the rector of the University of South Bohemia doc. Tomáš Machula, Ph.D., Th.D. and the vice-rector for international relations doc. PaedDr. Radka Závodská, Ph.D. went for a three-day visit of ASPU (Armenian State Pedagogical University). They were welcommed by the rector prof. Dr. Ruben Mirzakhanyan and on 6.11.2019 they signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
International student club (ISC), that exists at the University of South Bohemia since 2007, managed to become a part of an international organization Erasmus Student Network (ESN). The accession to ESN was approved by the absolute majority of representatives of other Czech universities on 7th September 2019. With the new name and design, ESN USB Budweis became the 530th section of this organization and the 19th section in the Czech Republic.

The research of organic sulphur compounds of agricultural products, that has been for a long time done by the scientific group of doc. Ing. Roman Kubec, Ph.D. at the department of applied chemistry Faculty of Agriculture USB, led to another publication in the magazine of American chemical organization Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry.
A set of mathematical textbooks for high schools by Fraus Publisher has been nominated to a prestigious BELMA Award 2019 as the only one from the Czech and Slovak Republic.
The University of South Bohemia has taken for the first time a place in the international ranking of the top universities THE World University Rankings (THE). Among other Czech universities, USB reached 5th place and globally a shared place 801. – 1000.
On Thursday 5th September at 2 pm was held the closing ceremony of the 28th annual of the Summer School of Slavonic Studies, that is organised by the Faculty of Arts USB.
On Sunday 25th August 2019 started in České Budějovice the largest national conference of biologists that experiment with plants. International meeting „Plant Biology CS 2019“ is organized by biologists from the Faculty of Science at the joint campus of the University of South Bohemia and the Biology Centre, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Branišovská street, it will last 6 days and nearly 300 scientists and students from all over the world are going to participate. The specialists will devote to topics such as genetical manipulations, adaptation of plants to global changes, crop genomics or plant biotechnology. The whole conference will be accompanied by the commemoration of Jaroslav Kerles, significant south bohemian artist and illustrator whose cartoons are very often connected with nature.
