Indian Ambassador visited the University of South Bohemia

On Tuesday 4th June 2019, H.E. Mrs. Narinder Chauhan, Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic visited the University of South Bohemia and Biology Centre, Czech Academy of Sciences in České Budějovice.

The Indian delegation was welcomed by the Vice-Rector for International Relations Assoc. Prof. Radka Závodská and represenatives of the university, Mrs Helena Vorlová, Head of the Academic Library and Prof. Friedo Zölzer, Vice Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences.

Together with the representatives of Biology Centre - Dr. Libor Grubhoffer, Professor and Director, Biology Centre CAS and Prof. Vladimir Kostal, chairman of the BC board, Biology Centre, they planted a sapling in the university campus to mark the World Environment Day (June 5) dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his 150th birth anniversary. The delegation also met Indian researchers and Ph.D students working at Biology Centre CAS. 

A brief presentation of the University of South Bohemia was followed by a friendly discussion regarding the possibilities of Indian-Czech scholarships and support of Indian researchers.

The delegation continued to Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where H.E. Mrs Narinder Chauhan had a meeting with Dr. Libor Grubhoffer, the Director of Biology Centre.
